Stayed at home to study the whole day for my commercial law exam that is on tomorrow morning. Gotta pray for really good memory to remember all the laws and cases since this year's exam isn't open book like it normally is. Oh well, God always works His miracles so i'll leave it up to Him.
Quick devotion this morning was from 1 Corinthians 3:18-23.
18 Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their own craftiness”; 20 and again, “The LORD knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.” 21 Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours: 22 whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas, or the world or life or death, or things present or things to come—all are yours. 23 And you are Christ’s, and Christ is God’s.
v18-20 are pretty self explanatory telling us that it's pointless being wise with all the knowledge of this world, and of men. God says that He catches the wise in their own craftiness and that the thoughts of the wise are futile. So i rather be not be wise in this world, but be wise in the ways of God.
I didn't quite get v21 when i first read it, coz the sentence just didn't seem to connect. But after reading it a few times i guess that what it was trying to say was that we shouldn't boast in the things of men, because in God, all things are ours? I'm not too sure, but thats what i think at least. Then in v22 weird examples like Paul, Apollos, Cepas, the world, or life and death are used. It didn't seem to connect, and i was pretty confused reading it, but in the everything is ours as long as we're in God, and thats all that matters.
Us -> Christ's -> God's!
i will bring praise, i will bring praise, no weapon formed against me shall remain, i will rejoice, i will declare, God is my victory and He is near
