Love so amazing so divine
Reached into
This heart of mine
Love pure as finest gold
Jesus set me free
Perfect liberty
Filled my soul, and now I know

Chorus:
Your love's
Higher than
The highest mountain
Deeper than the sea
Wider than
The widest ocean
Gentle as the breeze

Your love's
Stronger than a mighty river
Fresher than the rain
Not one thing can separate us
From the love
That Jesus gives us

Nothing separates us
From Your love

As i was praying/worshipping today, this song just popped in my head.. and as i was just singing it, the words of the song were so meaningful and powerful, and it just touched my heart.. God's love for us is so amazing and so divine, and the more you love someone, the more you get hurt by them when they hurt you.. Just thinking back on all the times which i had done something wrong which must've hurt God, i just feel so bad, but still God continues to love us.. God's love is so real and evident in our daily lives, if we only take a few moments each day to think back to what God has done for us, we'll realise that everything He does, is out of love for us.. And imagining about the greatness of His love always leaves me speechless.. Not one thing can separate us, from the love that Jesus gives us, nothing separates us from Your love..

Day 18.

Today's devotion reading was another history lesson, this time on Jacob! After cheating his brother, Esau, of their father's blessing, Jacob ran off to his uncle's(Laban) house where he stayed and ended up marrying his uncle's 2 daughters(Leah, Rachel). Then they went on for like a whole chapter on how many different people he slept with e.g his wives, and their servants.. and then a list of all the kids he had. All because in the old testament, child birth must have been a really important thing for women.. it's as though if you can't bear kids, you must be cursed or something.. It must have so important because when they can't bear kids, the wives would just send their servants to sleep with their husband.. how weird is that? I don't think these things even happen in our times, it seems pretty wrong to me.. going to the extend of having their servant sleep with their husband just so that they can please themselves or the other party to show that they have kids, which in the end isn't even theirs, coz the kids came from the servant! However one thing which i read that i still don't quite understand is the whole deal of Jacob keeping the speckled or spotted sheep/lamb, and his uncle, Laban, keeping the rest. Because after that it is recorded that Jacob does something with some bark or wood, and places them in the troughs and in the water channel.. then it's got something to do with the stronger of the flock breeding, and the weaker of the flocks.. Than after that he says that God spoke to him about the whole spotted and speckled sheep issue, and then they had to leave the land. Was there any significance in the story? Don't think i quite caught the meaning behind the story..
