hmm finally started work again today after taking a long break because of exams and hillsong, was good to be working again.. thank God for providing me with a good job, giving me the opportunity to work for the money i need, and in the process bring glory to Him. Me getting this job itself is an answered prayer!
Day 17.
Well today i read a bit on Isaac's later part of life, then read how Jacob stole his brothers blessing, and also the birthright from his brother Esau. What i found interesting was how both Abraham and Isaac lied about their wives when they were asked, maybe the laws back then might have been different, but i can't imagine anyone getting killed because their wife is too beautiful/pretty in these days.. That to me seemed pretty cowardly, valuing their own lives above their wife's life. Another thing which im not too sure about is also the importance of the birthright and getting blessed by the father. I don't think we follow that system anymore, or least i don't know of such things as those happening in our families.. We don't see brothers fighting over birthrights, and getting blessed by their fathers, infact we don't even hear people talking about such things in the new testament.. Maybe it was something that got abolished when Jesus came? haha the old testament is pretty weird and confusing, but thank God that we're not living in the old testament, but instead in the new testament under God's grace!
