Day 53.
What i found pretty interesting/cool from my reading today was how Moses could hear God 's voice/command so clearly. It starts off in v1 with: "The LORD spoke to Moses..." Then God talks to Moses from v2 all the way until v16, and Moses is able to hear everything so clearly and remember everything that God had commanded Him to do. Most of the time when i hear someone say that God spoke to them or told them something, it usually is just a line or two.. But with Moses, the instructions that God gave Him were long and and can sometimes be confusing if lots of Hebrew names were involved as well. In Numbers 1:5-15, God gives Moses the names of the men that were meant to assist him.. and so we have this whole long list of names that are hard to spell let alone pronouncing it. I wonder if Moses knew them beforehand, or if God just told Moses a few random names on the spot and Moses had to remember them and search them out slowly. It's also really amazing how back then it was just God and Moses, there wasn't any Holy Spirit, or anyone who acted as a mediator.. God spoke to Moses directly all the time, and all Moses did was obey!
Another interesting thing is how God always keeps His promise. After Moses took the census for all the men who re capable of fighting and are over 20, he counted a total of 603,550. I don't think that these were even half the number of Israelites! God made a promise to Abraham many years back saying that He would make Abraham a father of many nations with descendants as many as the stars, and at that time Abraham was at an old age and didn't even have a single child! But Abraham believed, and here we see that God did indeed keep His promise. From one man, comes forth many nations!
