Day 118.
More fighting and war continues, this time against the Aramean forces. One smal detail i noticed that is pretty intriguing is that the same battle is described in two different parts in the Bible, which is in 2 Samuel 10:15-19, and 1 Chronicles 16-19. However in 2 Samuel 10:18 it says that David killed 700 charioteers, but in 1 Chronicles 19:18 it says that David killed 7,000 charioteers! It's the same story, but the numbers don't match up..how come?
Anyway after that, i read about the story of David and Bathsheba which is a very well known story. If David had not been lazy and went out to war with the army, he wouldn't have sinned. Not only that, one sin lead to another, which resulted in him having to kill one of his loyal soldiers Uriah. Poor guy did nothing wrong, but had to end up being killed. 2 Samuel 11:27, it states that what David did displeased the Lord. I know i don't want to anything that displeases the Lord! Not that because it is sin, but knowing that how much God loves us, and how much we hurt Him when we do things like that. I want to be pleasing to God.
Just something nice i read in Psalm 20
4 May He grant you according to your heart’s desire,
And fulfill all your purpose.
5 We will rejoice in your salvation,
And in the name of our God we will set up our banners!
May the LORD fulfill all your petitions.
6 Now I know that the LORD saves His anointed;
He will answer him from His holy heaven
With the saving strength of His right hand.
7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses;
But we will remember the name of the LORD our God.
Amen! May we remember and trust in the name of the Lord our God, because we are His anointed!
You paid the price
When You laid down Your life
The sacrfice
You alone had to bear
